Family Photojournalism

Upstate New York & northern Vermont

These are the moments you'll treasure in your heart when your family is grown... the ones that sometimes make you think, "I wish someone was here to take a picture of this."

Photojournalism is a documentary style of photography in which the subjects (that's you!) are not influenced by the photographer (that's me!)

You're busy.

You have young kids and a tight budget.

You've been meaning to get family photos because you KNOW that children change so fast, but you just can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on new clothes and shoes for all the kids only for them to dirty them, cry in them, and then outgrow them within a month, never to be worn again.

Nevermind having to coordinate everyone's outfits and schedules for a photography session you hope and stress for weeks doesn't get rained out.

There is an easier way.

Family photojournalism documents you with the people you value most, doing the activities you value most in and around your home, from dancing in the kitchen to reading and cooking together to going for family walks.

No interference from me.

No travel, special outfits, or aesthetic home necessary.

Messes and tears welcome.

This is the easiest family photography session you will ever do.

"Every photo told a story, and I cannot count the blessings attached to such a gift. They are absolutely beautiful!"

—Tiffany, Mama of 3

The Process:

  1. You schedule your session date and pay the session fee.
  2. You fill out a short questionnaire with some information about your family that will help make our session meaningful to you.
  3. I send you a prep email with my ONE EASY TIP for a successful "day in the life" session
  4. I arrive at your home, put on my clean socks, and document your family in and around your home for 4 hours between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
  5. Sneak peek within a few days of our session.
  6. [Anticipation]
  7. I'll deliver your gallery via email a few weeks later. (Trust me - this goodness is worth the wait.)
  8. You get to view your full gallery of photos before choosing your photo products to purchase.

Here's what you need to know about me:

I have five kiddos under 8, plus over two decades of childcare experience, from babysitting to volunteering as a "buddy" for children with special needs at my church, so I'm very comfortable with children of all ages and abilities!

As a birth worker with 6 years of trauma center experience, I know how to be present but unnoticed.

I may or may not wear a fake mustache (my photographer "disguise") as an icebreaker for the kiddos and a visual cue to you that I am there to take photos, not to be hosted.

I can pass a background check with flying colors.

Remember how they were, not just how they looked.

Mama,

You work hard all day, endlessly moving around clothes and dishes and toys and children and messes that shall not be named,

wondering if anyone sees you...

wishing someone would see you.

I see you.

You're more beautiful than you know.

Let me show you.

You just keep doing your mom thing and let me take care of the rest.

All you have to do is open the door when I arrive. (I'll even shut it behind me because I know what a treat that can be.)
